Fira de Barcelona is starting a new event: it’s the Barcelona Wine Week, which will be held from the 3rd to the 5th of February in the Monjuïc area of Fira de Barcelona occupying an area of more than 30,000 m2 and will bring together 600 wineries from 37 different countries.
The Barcelona Wine Week (BWW) has been born with the aim of being able to show the diversity and quality of the wine market and to value the offer of the different Spanish wine areas. This meeting is the substitute for the Salón Intervin, which was held within the framework of the Alimentaria Fair.
In this first edition of the BWW there will be from wine cellar groups and reference brands to projects and proposals that arise in the sector, as well as a strong presence of wines covered by different quality labels: Wines of Payment, with Denomination of Origin and Wines of the Earth, among others. In addition, Wine Talks Tours will be proposed in the main commercial areas of Barcelona (Illa Diagonal, Paseo de Gràcia and Rambla de Catalunya).
There will also be space for organic and biodynamic wines and for those products and wineries that make sustainability their hallmark. Likewise, distillates will be represented in the hall, as well as equipment, utensils, accessories and services oriented to the sector.
Other activities at the Barcelona Wine Week
The Barcelona Wine Week will also feature BWWHub, with sensory experiences linked to the world of wine; BWWGastronomy, which will enhance the Mediterranean diet and the nutritional value of wine; the Barcelona Coctail Art, dedicated to cocktails and distillates, and the BWW likes the city, to involve the city in the event.
